ALM Announces Release of UK Panel Appointments and Expirations Report 2022

This report provides a detailed look back at 2021 UK panel appointments, ranging from UK-only panels to global and specialist rosters

New York, NY – June 30th –  ALM is pleased to announce the release of the UK Panel Appointments and Expirations Report 2022. The report provides a detailed look back at 2021 UK panel appointments, ranging from UK-only panels to global and specialist rosters.

Furthermore, to help provide a first-mover advantage in the ever-competitive panel selection process, the report profiles 10 panels that could be set for expiry in 2023. Each profile details which law firms currently reside on the panel. This includes both UK and US firms. Where applicable, the in-house counsel that led the selection process during the last review is also examined, as well as the specific selection criteria they adopted.

The report includes:

  • An analysis of 2021 UK panel appointments including a breakdown of firm-client relationships
  • A law firm panel appointment league table for the five-year period between 2017 and 2021
  • A breakdown of law firm panel wins across the same period including both UK and US firm wins
  • 10 detailed profiles of legal panels that could be set for expiry in 2023 including several rosters involving FTSE listed companies

“ALM Intelligence has a database of UK panel appointments dating back to 2017,” said James Willer, Director, ALM Intelligence. “While limited to the UK, the data also incorporates global panel arrangements and can provide important insights and trends for US law firms to consider domestically. This includes the approach General Counsel (GCs) are taking to their rosters. In addition to tracking the firms that are appointed to each panel, ALM Intelligence also captures metrics such as the panel size, duration, selection oversight and the expected next review date.”

“The UK Panel Appointments & Expirations report is critical intelligence for law firms,” said Patrick Fuller, Vice President & General Manager of ALM Intelligence. “The detailed information in the report outlines the panel selection process, panel construction, and the firms named to the panel. This report offers a first-mover advantage for firms interested in pursuing the organizations with expiring panels.”
